How to Buy

At present my amplifiers are only available direct. By not selling through third parties, I can keep prices lower and pass the savings on to you.

Most amps I make are built to order. Usually I don't have much time to build amps for stock, and whenever I do they sell very quickly. I usually have a few amps for immediate sale, which are listed on the For Sale page. It's always worth a call/email to check the current stock situation, as amps in production often sell before they're finished.

I usually have demo amps of the most popular models, and you are welcome to make an appointment to try them. I am based in the Manchester area, close to the motorway network.

All demo's are of course entirely without obligation, and are relaxed and informal. You are invited to bring your own guitars (and amps), play some licks, have a chat and take as long as you need. You won't be subject to any pressure or sales tactics, and you won't receive any follow up sales calls.

Lead time for the amps on the site is typically 8-10 weeks, depending on my order schedule. Custom builds may take longer. When an order is placed I will give an estimated completion date, although this cannot be guaranteed. I will keep you informed of the progress of your order by email or text.

How to place an order

Read through all the information on the site first. If you have any questions, or wish to arrange a demo, please phone or email me.

You can place an order in person, by phone or email. In the latter cases I will send you a confirmation email with your order details.

A deposit must be paid when the order is placed. There are two options available - either half on placement of order and the balance on completion or, where the price is in excess of £1800, you can choose to make three payments of approx one third each. You can pay by bank transfer, cash or cheque.

All UK customers have seven working days from my receipt of your deposit in which to cancel and receive a full refund. If you cancel after that, any refund will be pro rata and solely at my discretion.

If you can't collect your amp in person it can be shipped to you by any of the main carriers, or by personal courier (UK mainland only). You are responsible for all shipping and insurance costs, which must be paid before the amp can be shipped. You can arrange collection and delivery yourself if you prefer.

International Orders

Overseas orders are welcome, although I reserve the right to reject orders from certain countries.

At present, prices on the site apply throughout the EU. This may change once the UK leaves the EU. For other countries please ask for a price.

Payment terms are 50% deposit and the balance on completion. All payments must be received in GBP by bank transfer, and you are responsible for all currency and bank charges. All relevant costs plus shipping charges must be paid before an amp can be despatched.

You are also responsible for all taxes and customs charges levied in your country. For information on these please consult the appropriate authorities.

International Shipping

Within the EU amps can be shipped ground - 2-5 days, or by air - 1-2 days. Ground shipping charges start from about £40, and depend on the size and weight of the packaged amplifier. I can give a shipping quote based on estimated size and weight, but the actual shipping cost is only determined when the shipping carrier weighs the packaged amp.

It is recommended that all amps be shipped insured for their full value. With most carriers there will be a premium for this. All amps will be securely packaged. However if you choose not to insure for the full value, any loss or damage during shipping will be at our own risk, and Gartone Amps will not be responsible.
